Chris Trueman - Chief Executive & Director

Chris holds a Dip Eng(Chem) RMIT, and Grad. Dip. Computing Charles Sturt University.
He is the initiator of the concept for the Trust, and is Chief Executive & Director of the Trust.
Chris initially represented Dili Institute of Technology (DIT) in Victoria and coordinated substantial aid for DIT. He established the Sponsor a Student for a Semester program in early 2004 to assist DIT students.
He was the founder and former CEO of Southbank Apartments in Melbourne, and has wide prior industry experience in manufacturing, marketing, human resources and computing.
Chris was a member of the Board of Management of Ararat and District Hospital in the early 1980’s and was a Committee Member and Vice Chairman of the Ararat and District Nursing Home Society.
He commenced full time voluntary work in October 2002, and was the inaugural in-country representative in East Timor, on a volunteer basis, for Rotary Australia World Community Service Ltd for the period December 2002 – May 2003.
This work led to his association with DIT. This work was broadened in its scope leading to the formation of the Xanana Vocational Education Trust.
Chris has travelled regularly to East Timor since his first visit in October 2002.
Chris is a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Southbank and has been honoured by his club with a Paul Harris Fellowship in 2003 and a Sapphire Paul Harris Fellowship in 2005.
As a youth Chris was honoured with a Queen’s Scout Award.
