Wine...and more. A fun day out.



A visit to Rose Creek Estate on Sunday 26th August delighted all who attended.
The winery was open for tastings and sales as part of the Sunbury “Sip-n-Sup” 2007 Wine Festival. Rose Creek Estate is located at 2 Craig St. East Keilor.


  • Trust volunteers had a faulous day.
  • Hundreds of visitors leant about the Trust's work.
  • And the Trust benefitted from a raffle held on the day.

Fundraising Function in Sydney a Major Success


The Rotary Club of Sydney Cove's MGSM Business Breakfast on the theme "Leadership as an Opportunity" on 7 June 2007 was an outstanding success.
The event raised $20,000 for the Trust. A brilliant job from the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove.

Australia Day Honours 2007


The Honourable Justice Frank Vincent AO, an Honorary Governor of the Trust, was recognised in the Australia Day Honours List 2007.

Neil Black PSM, one of the Trust's Vocational Education & Training (VET) Development Group members, was also honoured in the Australia Day 2007 list.

The Trust heartily congratulates Justice Vincent and Neil Black for their well earned awards.

Difficulties in East Timor. particularly relating to the dismissing of just on 600 members of the F-FDTL (Defence Force), and the subsequent unrest has lead to gunfighting between army factions, and civil violence.

Appointment of Honorary Governors


At the invitation of the Trust's Patrons, His Excellency Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao and The Honourable Sir William Deane AC KBE, ten prominent Australians have accepted a role as Honorary Governors of the Trust.

Vocational training in action


The Trust has commenced its work in East Timor!
Funding has been allocated to four pilot projects and the Trust's VET Development Group is visiting East Timor in January 2006.

Xanana Trust and spam emails


The Trust has recently been subject to an attack whereby an unknown computer infected with a virus is sending out emails which appear to come from xananatrust.org

Federal Government Support: Tax Deductibility


The Government has advised that it has agreed to list the Trust as a DGR organisation givng full tax deductibility for donations made to the Trust.

President launches Trust


Mr Steve Bracks, Premier of Victoria is hosted a dinner at which the Trust Patrons, His Excellency Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, and Sir William Deane officially launched the Trust on Monday 11 July, 2005.

First major fundraising


The Rotary Club of Southbank hosted a fabulous Business Breakfast Tuesday 12 July 2005, at Sofitel Melbourne.
Around 640 business leaders filled the Grand Ballroom to hear two great leaders of out time speak on the theme of "Leadership as an Opportunity".





Dili Institute of Technology


The Trust has established relationships with a new and vibrant vocational education and training provider in East Timor – Dili Institute of Technology (DIT) – which has given us a good understanding of what is needed and the obstacles to overcome.
